We took a little break from packing and took some pics for our adoption announcements that we hope to send out when we get home. Here are some of the pics we took. I know I am a bit bias but I have to say, aren't our children beautiful?! It ws so fun to get some of them together.

Big Powell News....

Many of you already know this news but for those who don't the Powell crew is moving! This has been a recent development and one that a lot of prayer and thought went into it. We are heading to the “north country” as Scott calls it to Northern Michigan. This area is where we grew up and also where most of our family is located.

It all started with some job opportunities for Scott. We were not looking to move for at least a year and so when these jobs came up we didn’t even think they were a possibility. Well after much thought and prayer we decided that this move was a really good thing for our family. They will be close to there family and we will be able to enjoy that community. We are sad to leave Bethel but are so excited to walk through this open door that we feel God is leading us through.

So the last two weeks have been beyond crazy, we have been looking at houses, trying to switch insurances, job interviews, finishing up work here, and all those other things that go with a big move. We are ready for another transition, but we are also ready to be settled. So that is our big news! We are not sure if the north country is ready for us but here we come….

So we will keep you updated as our life takes another big turn. The adventure just continues!

New camera pics, yeah for good pics!!!

So we got the new camera and I am so excited! We are still trying to understand how to use it:) But overall we are so happy with it. We have captured some great moments with the kids around the house lately so I wanted to share.

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY ELISABETH MAYRA POWELL!!!!

Life has been well for a lack of better words, crazy. We have some big changes on the horizon for the Powell crew and hence the absence from the blog. Stay tuned for more updates this week.

This week has marked a lot of playing inside due to really HOT days here. Mateo starts to get a little stir crazy when he doesn’t get to run outside. So being the good parents we are we have come up with a fun game…Mateo runs from one side of the cottage to the other when we count to three, about four laps in he is starting to slow down a bit! Both kids are doing well and we just continue to feel so blessed with the fact both of them are home and have almost been with us for two months now. Where did the time go?! All those prayer warriors out there can continue to pray for sleep issues. Mateo was up almost all night last night I think I got about two hours of sleep total, I talked to our case worker at AAI today and was reminded that this can last up to a year, yikes! But on the flip side after reading so much about toddler adoption I know that this is mild compared to some things that parents deal with. So we are trying to remain positive and just remember how thankful we are that God has blessed us the refining job of raising these children!

We spent a wonderful weekend up north with our families and had a birthday party for Elisabeth! she turned one on Thursday, wow it was so surreal to know that a year ago this beautiful little girl was brought into this world across the ocean from us and now we have her in our lives and home. God is so good!

Well we will update again this week but right now I have to get back to Barney en espanol with my son. Fun times, and no it is not better in Spanish☺
